Otunba Ayodeji Osibogun, heir to the Awujale throne, has raised alarm over increasing abductions across parts of Ogun State, warning that kidnappers are now operating freely in several communities.
Osibogun specifically identified Imagbon, Itele, Ogunmakin along the Lagos-Ibadan corridor, and Oke-Eri/Imope on the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway as areas facing growing kidnapping threats.
His warning comes amid reports that some schools in Imagbon, near Isara-Remo, allegedly did not reopen over fears of insecurity and possible infiltration by armed gangs.
There is currently no official confirmation from the Ogun State Government or Police regarding the reported school closures.
However, on May 12, about 15 armed gunmen invaded Ipojo Golden Estate in Oke-Eri, Ijebu-Ode, abducting three members of the same family before fleeing into nearby forests.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the attack and said rescue operations were ongoing.
Security concerns are growing across Ogun’s Ijebu axis as kidnapping incidents continue spreading into more communities.
