“Our lives will be lost” – Abducted Oyo school principal cries out for help in emotional video

A woman identified as Mrs. Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Esinele, has cried out for help after she, alongside several staff members and students, was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen in Oyo State.

In an emotional video making rounds on X (formerly Twitter), the principal said the incident occurred on Friday at about 9:30 a.m. in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In her words, she said:

“On Friday at around 9:30, we were attacked by a certain group of people. A good number of us were abducted, the staff and the students as well.”

The woman appealed to the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and other well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and ensure their safe release.

According to her, they have remained in captivity since Friday and are pleading for peaceful intervention to prevent loss of lives.

“We have been here since Friday. I am making this video to ask for help from everyone. They should come to our help and settle this thing peacefully so that our lives will not be lost,” she added.

Two days ago, Gistreel reported that the Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State was thrown into panic after armed men invaded a secondary school and kidnapped its principal alongside several students.

The disturbing video has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over insecurity and praying for the safe return of the victims.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the abduction.
