- VeryDarkMan has sparked backlash after revealing he invested ₦100 million from NGO funds into treasury bills.
- His explanation has divided public opinion, raising concerns about transparency and accountability.
Controversial social media personality VeryDarkMan has come under scrutiny after disclosing how funds from his NGO were managed, triggering widespread reactions online.
In a video making the rounds on social media, VeryDarkMan explained that part of the NGO’s funds was redirected into an investment to sustain operations.
“The NGO now has a call number, let me take you all to the call center, I had to take ₦100 million from the NGO money and invest it in treasury bills so I can use the profit to pay our staff. When you get scammed or your community doesn’t have water, or maybe you’re being oppressed, you call this number……” he said.
His statement quickly stirred controversy, with many Nigerians questioning the financial decision and transparency of using funds originally meant for social impact projects.
Reacting to the development, one user, Verydarkman Nekwu, wrote, “That is quite the financial strategy. So the money meant for water and justice is now in treasury bills, and the people get a call center line for their suffering? That’s an interesting approach to activism.”
