Peter Obi Mourns Former UN Peacekeeper Lt. Gen. Chikadibia Obiakor

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Lieutenant General Chikadibia Isaac Obiakor, describing him as a patriotic soldier and one of Nigeria’s finest international peacekeepers.

Reacting to the news of Obiakor’s passing, Peter Obi said the late military officer dedicated his life to serving Nigeria with bravery, integrity, and professionalism, both within the Nigerian Armed Forces and at the United Nations.

Obi revealed that he had spoken with the late general just a few weeks ago and also mentioned him during a public event last Monday, noting that it was difficult to believe their recent interaction would become their final conversation.

According to Obi, the late Lt. Gen. Obiakor lived a life defined by sacrifice, dedication, and unwavering commitment to peace and humanity.

He praised the deceased for inspiring many military officers and young Nigerians through his exemplary service and contributions to global peacekeeping missions.

Peter Obi also extended his condolences to the family of the late general, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and all those affected by the loss.

“His life was characterised by dedication, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to peace and humanity,” Obi stated while praying for God to grant the late military officer eternal rest and strengthen his loved ones during the difficult period.

Lt. Gen. Chikadibia Isaac Obiakor was widely respected for his contributions to the Nigerian military and his role in international peacekeeping operations under the United Nations.
