Portugal name Cristiano Ronaldo for Super Eagles friendly ahead of World Cup

Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez has announced his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

 

Portugal will warm up for the competition with friendlies, including a high-profile meeting with Nigeria on June 10 at the Dr Magalhães Pessoa Stadium in Portugal.

 

Ronaldo, who remains Portugal’s captain and all-time leading scorer, headlines the squad packed with experienced stars and young talents currently playing across Europe’s top leagues.

 

Nigeria coach Eric Chelle has already confirmed that he intends to select a strong squad for the June 10 clash as the Super Eagles continue preparations for future competitions.
