Popular Nigerian social media commentator VeryDarkMan has broken down emotionally in a new video while expressing deep concern over the worsening state of insecurity in Nigeria.…....
VDM’s reaction follows reports of a tragic attack in Oyo State where bandits allegedly beheaded an abducted teacher and continued to hold dozens of victims captive, including a two-year-old child.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday morning, May 15, 2026, when heavily armed bandits riding motorcycles launched coordinated attacks on schools in the Oriire Local Government Area near Ogbomoso in Oyo State.
The attackers targeted several schools, including Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.
According to community leaders, about 46 people were abducted, including seven teachers and 39 students and pupils. However, the Oyo State Police Command earlier confirmed that between 25 and 32 persons remained missing as rescue operations continued.
Among those reportedly abducted was a two-year-old toddler identified as Christianah Akanbi, alongside a nursing mother and several young children.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, a disturbing video began circulating on social media showing the gruesome execution of Michael Oyedokun, a mathematics teacher who was among the abducted staff.
Reacting in a video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan lamented the difficult conditions faced by teachers in Nigeria, noting that many educators are poorly paid yet remain committed to teaching because of their passion for children.
He criticised the government for allegedly failing to adequately support teachers financially while also struggling to provide proper security for schools and communities.
VDM further revealed that the situation hit close to home because his mother works as a teacher in a private secondary school, making the tragedy even more personal to him.
During the emotional rant, the social commentator also criticised President Bola Tinubu, stating that the president does not deserve a second term in office. According to him, the government appears more focused on the 2027 general elections instead of addressing the growing insecurity across the country.
