The Jaji Sambo Governorship Campaign Organisation has demanded the immediate cancellation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Taraba.
Dr Ishaq Alkasin, Director of Research and Communications for the organisation made the demand on Saturday at a media briefing in Jalingo.
Alkasim accused party officials of violating accreditation rules, sidelining agents, and abandoning lawful voting procedures.
He said that officials did not conduct accreditation, verify membership, or deploy designated electoral officers in most wards.
He added that party members, who turned up at polling units found no materials or officials on ground.
“No credible, transparent, lawful, or verifiable governorship primary election took place in substantial parts of the State.
“Officials excluded agents representing Sambo from every critical stage of the process at Fast Track Hotel, Jalingo.
“Our agents could not access accreditation, sorting, counting, collation, or the announcement of results, he said.
Alkasin mentioned centres where there was break down of order to include! Muhammadu Nya, Hassan, Lamorde, and Sabon Gari primary schools.
He said the process collapsed into disorder, voter inducement, intimidation, and the eventual abandonment of polling locations.
He said the failures amounted to substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act, 2026, warning that the conduct threatens APC’s credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“If the party ignores this, it will discourage genuine members, alienate grassroots supporters, and weaken public confidence in its commitment to internal democracy,” Alkasin said.
The group urged the APC National Working Committee and the governorship primary election appeal committee to investigate, reject the purported results, and cancel the primary.
They also called for sanctions against those responsible and demanded a fresh, free, and fair primary conducted strictly under the law and party guidelines.
Alkasin reaffirmed the group’s loyalty to President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We remain committed to peace, party unity, internal democracy, and the continued progress and success of the APC under the leadership of President Tinubu,” he said.
