Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have lifted restrictions on U.S. military access to their bases and airspace, paving the way for the possible resumption of “Project Freedom” in the coming days, The WSJ reports.

• Gulf states reportedly imposed the restrictions after concerns the U.S. was downplaying Iranian attacks and would not respond forcefully enough.

• Trump paused the operation following a call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding the escalation.
