A lady has shared an emotional story about a woman who rescued an abandoned baby from a dustbin years ago and raised her as her own child.
The account, which resurfaced on social media, has sparked conversations about adoption, child abandonment and the impact of compassion on a person’s life.
According to the narrator, the incident occurred while she was in Primary 5. She recalled how residents gathered around after news spread that a baby had been discovered abandoned in a dustbin within the community.
The woman who found the child decided, alongside her husband, to take responsibility for the baby because they had been unable to have children of their own.
Couple adopts abandoned baby
“I was in Primary 5 when a lady in my area found a baby in a dustbin. I still remember how people gathered around to see the child. The woman said she and her husband would take care of the baby because they didn’t have a child of their own. At the time, many people were surprised by the decision, but they stood by it and raised her.”
Birthday post rekindles memories
The narrator explained that years later, she came across a social media post that reminded her of the incident and the remarkable transformation in the young girl’s life.
“Last night, I was on Facebook and saw the woman wishing the girl she picked from the dustbin a happy birthday. She has grown into such a beautiful young girl. Imagine if that woman had never seen her that day. Some people are praying every day for a child, while others are throwing them away.”
Cases involving abandoned children and adoption have periodically drawn public attention, often highlighting the role of individuals and families who provide care and support to vulnerable children.
