Nigerian music star Rema has opened up about the reason his previous relationship came to an end, describing his former partner as manipulative.
Speaking during a conversation with YouTuber Korty EO, the singer reflected on the relationship, noting that while it had many good moments, it was far from perfect.
According to Rema, he often looked forward to finding peace and relaxation after dealing with the demands of his career and public life. However, he claimed that instead of comfort, he was frequently met with unnecessary drama and tension at home.
The award-winning artist explained that he eventually decided to end the relationship after reaching a point where he could no longer cope with what he described as her troubling behavior.
Despite acknowledging that the relationship had its beautiful moments, Rema suggested that the constant emotional strain ultimately made it unsustainable, leading him to walk away.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but a little quite manipulative. So much pressure. Knowing the world puts so much pressure on me but coming back home is where you want to feel relieved but when you come back home and you are getting more pressure, it’s a different story. For now, I’m done,” he said.
