Stellenbosch FC have officially begun a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2026/27 season, confirming the departures of several senior players in a dramatic clear-out at the club.
The Winelands outfit announced on Thursday that a host of players will leave the club following the expiry of their contracts and loan agreements, marking the end of an era for some familiar faces at Stellies.
Among the biggest names heading out is veteran goalkeeper Lee Langeveldt. The 39-year-old recently confirmed his retirement from professional football, but he will remain at the club in a new role as goalkeeper coach for Stellenbosch FC’s Youth Academy, Reserves and Ladies teams.
Another experienced shot-stopper, Oscarine Masuluke, is also on his way out after spending three seasons with the Maroons. During his stay, the popular goalkeeper made 30 appearances across all competitions.
Fellow goalkeeper Dejean Ah Shene has also been released after the club opted against renewing his contract for next season.
The departures list does not end there. Defenders Thabo Moloisane and Athenkosi Mcaba had already been confirmed as outgoing players, but Stellenbosch have now revealed that Nigerian international Kazie Enyinnaya, Wayde Jooste, Olisa Ndah and Khomotjo Lekoloane will also be leaving the club.
Enyinnaya and Lekoloane were both key figures during their spells at the club, each making more than 50 appearances in Stellenbosch colours. Meanwhile, Jooste and Ndah depart after shorter stays, having only joined midway through last season to strengthen the squad for both domestic and CAF competitions.
The club also confirmed the exits of Tshegofatso Mabasa, Asekho Tiwani and Kobamelo Kodisang following the conclusion of their loan spells in the Cape Winelands.
In another notable development, Stellenbosch academy graduate Kyle Jurgens has permanently joined Durban City after the Nedbank Cup champions activated the option to buy included in his loan agreement.
The club thanked all departing players for their contribution and wished them well in the next chapters of their careers.
With so many exits confirmed in one window, Stellies now appear set for a major rebuilding process as they prepare for another demanding season under new coach Gavin Hunt.
