
The local equities market on Thursday sustained bullish trajectory, appreciating by N3.847 trillion as stocks with strong fundamental lifted trading activities during the day.
Market capitalisation of listed equities added 2.53 per cent to N155.994 trillion from N152.147 trillion recorded the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also increased by 5974.60 basis points to 242277.81 points from 236303.21 reported the previous day.
The rally in the market was driven by gains recorded in the mid cap and heavyweight stocks including BuaCement,UACN, Seplat Energy and among others.
The Market breath was positive with with 46 gainers against 40 losers, bringing year to date return to 55.48 per cent.
An analysis of the investment showed that BUACement, FTNCocoa and Zichis led gainers table with 10 per cent , closing at N418.00, N5.50 andN21.78 per unit respectively. SeplatEnergy and Cap Plc and UACN also gained 10 per cent to close respectively at N11495.00, N145.00 and N185.50 per unit of share.
On the contrary, Alex Plc topped losers chart for the day, dropping by 9.95 per cent to close at N9.50 per share, trailed by Royal Express with a loss of 9.93 per cent to close at N1.39 per share, Legend Internet down by 9.32 per cent to close at N5.35 per share, Austin Laz declined by 9.12 per cent to close at N3.39 per unit, Wapic Insurance sheds 7.84 per cent to close at N2.47 per share while Neimeth International pharmaceutical dropped by 7.26 per cent to close at N8.30 per share.
