An auto mechanic in the Ewuloja-Likosi area of Ogun State, identified as Onasanya Ayobami, has been left in shock after suspected robbers allegedly stole his vehicle.
NGBREAKINGNEWS Metro gathered from the victim that the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Speaking during a telephone interview with NGBREAKINGNEWS Metro on Wednesday, Ayobami said the vehicle had been parked in front of his wife’s shop, located within the same residential area where the family lives, before it suddenly disappeared.
He explained that earlier that day, his wife had used the car to pick up their children from school in Likosi-Ewuloja before later using it to buy some goods in the evening.
“When I got back from work that evening, we removed the goods and locked the car again. I then sat in my wife’s shop, which is directly outside our house, and we stayed there until sometime after 10 p.m.,” he said.
According to him, the shocking discovery was made the following morning as he prepared to leave for work.
“When I woke up, I had my bath and was getting ready to leave the house. I decided to wear my shoes outside, and that was when I discovered that the vehicle was missing,” he added.
The victim told our correspondent that he immediately reported the theft at the Shimawa Police Station in Ogun State, where officers requested details and a description of the missing vehicle as part of efforts to trace it.
“I reported the case and submitted all the details they requested on May 19, 2026, but I have not received any response yet,” he said.
He described the missing vehicle as a grey Toyota Camry with registration number KRD-976HX.
When contacted for an update on the investigation, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, stated that “the complainant must have reported it at a station.”
