Tension gripped Umuadara community in Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State on Thursday after a female student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho, identified as Wendy Achumba from Ngwa in Abia State, was reportedly k!lled and beheaded in her apartment.
The victim, who had completed her Midwifery programme and was undertaking her Post Basic studies, was said to have been found de@d in her residence in Umuadara, with her body bearing signs of brutal violence.
Residents who discovered the lifeless body with blood stains all over the place, raised the alarm, which attracted youths and members of the community to the scene. Witnesses described the incident as shocking and disturbing.
“She was a calm person and focused on her studies. Nobody expected something like this to happen,” a resident who pleaded anonymity said.
Sources in the area said the gruesome killing sparked anger among youths, leading to tension when security operatives arrived at the scene.
