Umahi made the statement on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election held at Umunaga Ward in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.…....
The minister spoke at the ward-level exercise where party members gathered to participate in the internal voting process of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He stated that the turnout at his polling unit reflected strong support for the president and the ruling party.
According to him, about 5,009 party members were recorded at the ward, and they participated in the process that produced President Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the upcoming election cycle.
Umahi described the level of participation in Ebonyi State as an indication of political unity and loyalty within the state’s structure of the All Progressives Congress.
He stated that the people of the state had consistently shown support for the party and its leadership since joining the APC.
He added that the political direction in Ebonyi State remains aligned with the policies and leadership of the current federal administration.
He also noted that the large turnout of party members demonstrated public confidence in the administration of President Tinubu, especially in relation to ongoing infrastructure development and federal appointments.
According to him, many communities in the South-East region have begun to experience increased inclusion in national governance through projects and political representation.
He explained that such developments have contributed to strengthening trust between the region and the federal government.
Umahi further stated that the integration of the South-East into national political and developmental structures has been one of the notable features of the current administration.
He explained that key appointments given to individuals from the region, as well as infrastructure projects being implemented, have helped to improve political participation and engagement.
He added that these efforts have encouraged greater cooperation between the South-East and the federal government.
The minister also spoke about the issue of insecurity in the country, expressing confidence that the current administration has the capacity to overcome the challenge if given additional time in office.
He stated that security challenges require sustained policies, long-term planning, and consistent implementation of strategies across different regions.
According to him, progress in addressing insecurity may take time, but continued governance under the current leadership would produce significant improvements.
Umahi maintained that the All Progressives Congress remains a strong political structure in Ebonyi State, noting that the party continues to grow in influence across local government areas.
He said that the support shown during the primary election reflects the commitment of party members to the leadership of the APC and its national leadership.
He added that political unity within the state has contributed to the party’s stability and organisation.
He said, “Bola Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for. A man who has integrated the entire South-East, given us juicy appointments and very important infrastructure.”
