TRAGEDY IN ENUGU: Son Allegedly Beheads Mother Weeks After Father’s Burial

A horrifying incident has shaken the Nkporogwu-Ukehe community in Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, following the alleged killing of a 60-year-old woman, Felicia Anikwe, by her own son.

The tragic event reportedly occurred on Friday, May 15, 2026, leaving residents in shock and deep mourning.

According to initial reports, the suspect, Onyebuchi Victor Anikwe, also known as “Biggalo,” believed to be around 40 years old, allegedly attacked his mother shortly after she stepped out of the bathroom in her home. She was said to be preparing to go out when the assault happened.

Sources within the community claim that the suspect used a cutlass in the attack, resulting in the gruesome death of the victim.

The incident is made even more disturbing by the fact that the deceased had only recently buried her husband — the father of the suspect — adding a painful layer to an already tragic situation.

Residents describe the development as shocking and difficult to comprehend, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the act, including the mental state of the suspect at the time.

Local authorities are yet to release an official statement, but it is expected that law enforcement agencies will take over the case to ensure justice is served.
