Troops of the 196 Amphibious Battalion Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborator during a routine security check in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno.
The suspect, identified as Mrs Kellu Alhaji Abba, 50, was apprehended at about 8:00 a.m. on May 20, 2026 at the C Company 7 Platoon checkpoint.
The suspect, a Kanuri woman residing in Lawanti area of Baga town, was intercepted while allegedly conveying supplies to her son, identified as Modu Mustapha, a suspected terrorist operating within the Dumba general area.
According to security sources, items recovered from the suspect included four ready-to-use supplementary food packs, two hijabs and one wristwatch.
The military said the suspect was currently in the custody of the 196 Amphibious Battalion for further investigation and necessary action.
The sources added that the security situation across the theatre remained calm but unpredictable, while troops maintained satisfactory morale and fighting efficiency.
