Trump says Iran talks going well, pushes Saudi Arabia and others to join Abraham Accords

US President Donald Trump on Monday said negotiations with Iran were “proceeding nicely” and pushed for a major expansion of the Abraham Accords, calling on several Middle Eastern and Muslim-majority countries to sign onto the agreement as part of a broader regional settlement.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump said any agreement with Iran would either be a “Great Deal for all” or there would be “no Deal at all,” warning that failure could mean a return “to the Battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before.”

Trump said he had discussed the issue during conversations on Saturday with leaders from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain.
According to Trump, he told the leaders that countries involved in the talks “should be mandatory” signatories to the Abraham Accords alongside any broader Iran settlement.
“It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit,” Trump wrote, adding that countries refusing to join “should not be part of this Deal.”

The Abraham Accords, first brokered during Trump’s earlier presidency, normalised relations between Israel and several Arab countries, including the UAE and Bahrain.

Trump described the accords as a “Financial, Economic, and Social BOOM” for participating countries and claimed the agreement could bring “true Power, Strength, and Peace to the Middle East for the first time in 5,000 years.”

In a striking remark, Trump also said leaders involved in the discussions would be willing to welcome Iran itself into the Abraham Accords if Tehran signs an agreement with the United States.

“Wow, now that would be something special!” he wrote.

Trump said he had instructed his representatives to begin the process of expanding the Abraham Accords to additional countries immediately.
