Etuku and Kidake were classmates at Emusire Boys High School, having joined on the same day and sharing the same class from Form One through to Form Four.
Life, as it often does after school, carried them in different directions, and as much as they rarely met in person after high school, the friends never truly lost touch.

Over the years, they maintained communication and followed each other’s journeys with mutual respect and encouragement.
After completing college, Ibrahim made a bold move that would set the tone for his future; he travelled to Tanzania to work as an English teacher.
It was a season of learning, discipline, and exposure to a different environment, far from home but rich in experience.
Later, he returned to Mombasa and started again from the ground up, this time venturing into the property business as an agent.
Like many young professionals trying to find their footing, he began slowly, building trust one client at a time, learning the market, and navigating the uncertainties that come with real estate.
“During that period, we often spoke on the phone,” Kidake recalled. “I was also immersed in my own journey, managing my property company, Scraj Homes Limited.”
Those conversations were more than casual catch-ups, they were exchanges of ideas, encouragement, and shared ambition.

Years later, Etuku stands as a respected contractor and property developer, a transformation that has not been loud or overnight but gradual, intentional, and deeply rooted in hard work.
One of the most striking testaments to his journey is visible back home where he has transformed what was once a simple semi-permanent house into a beautiful, palatial home.
From teaching in a foreign country to navigating the competitive property market in Mombasa, and now thriving as a developer, Ibrahim’s journey speaks to the power of determination.
“His journey is a true example of hard work, patience, and determination,” Kidake reflected. “You can clearly see how far he has come, and how deeply he has invested in his own growth.”
There is a lesson in his life that goes beyond personal achievement. It is a message to anyone who has ever doubted their beginning.
Humble origins do not define destiny. They only shape the first chapter.

As Kidake reflect on their shared past at Emusire, he reiterated that schools do more than teach examinations, they shape character, resilience, and how to navigate life beyond the classroom.
“We may not have always been top of the class, but life has a way of revealing different kinds of intelligence,” he concluded.
