Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has sparked conversations online after speaking out against what he considers unequal treatment of men and women in intimacy-related scandals.

His remarks surfaced amid the ongoing controversy involving media personality Frank Edoho and his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, whose marital issues have continued to dominate social media discussions.

The drama began after Frank publicly confirmed that his marriage to Sandra had crashed and that both parties were taking steps toward divorce.

Soon after the announcement, several accusations and speculations emerged online.

Among the rumours circulating was an alleged connection between singer Chike and the failed marriage, while Sandra also accused Frank of cheating and emotional abuse during their relationship.

The situation quickly became a trending topic, with many social media users sharing divided opinions over who should be held responsible for the breakdown of the marriage.

While some people defended Frank Edoho, others criticised both him and Sandra over the controversy.

Although Chiwetalu Agu did not directly mention the former couple while making his statement, many online users believed his comments were connected to the heated conversations currently surrounding relationship scandals and public accusations.

According to the veteran actor, society tends to judge women more harshly than men whenever issues involving intimacy become public knowledge.

“Why is it that when a man and a woman both make the same mistake or fall into a scandal involving intimacy, society often lets the man walk away untouched or with little to no consequence, while the woman carries the heavier burden and is judged more harshly?” he asked.
