Former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Bauchi State, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, has been affirmed as the 2027 governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement.
Also affirmed was Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.
The affirmation took place on Thursday during a major political gathering held at the Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu Arena, Government House, Bauchi, where the party unveiled candidates who emerged from its primaries across various levels.
The event marked the climax of the APM’s primary elections in Bauchi State.
Alongside the governorship ticket, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed was also announced as the party’s senatorial candidate for Bauchi South.
Addressing party members and supporters, Adamu said his administration, if elected, would build on the achievements of Governor Bala Mohammed to sustain growth, development and continuity in the state.
He described the journey ahead as a collective political project and called on other aspirants and stakeholders to join hands with him to secure victory for the party in 2027.
The APM State Chairman, Auwal Isah, thanked the people of Bauchi State for embracing the party and urged them to support all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections.
In his remarks, Governor Bala Mohammed appreciated residents for their continued support and appealed to them to extend the same goodwill to all APM candidates across the state.
The development comes as political activities continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
