
The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested 8 suspects in connection with the murder of Buhari Ibrahim, who was attacked by armed hoodlums on motorcycles in front of Shobanke Hotel, Hayin Dan Hausa, Gusau.
The command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen, Sunday.
According to the command, hoodlums riding on motorcycles and armed with cutlasses inflicted serious injuries on Ibrahim of Gadar Baga area, Gusau on the ill-fated day.
“Operatives from the Central Police Station evacuated the victim to the hospital, where he later died while receiving treatment,” Yazid stated.
“Following investigation, police arrested eight suspects, namely: Abdulrazak Mohammed, Mohammed Mohammed, Aisha Yahaya, Rabiatu Mohammed, Rukayya Mohammed, Rabiatu Mohammed, Nusaiba Abba and Ladi Sidi,” Yazid said.
The command spokesman said the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and further necessary action.
Meanwhile, the command is in manhunt for five other suspects believed to be involved in the killing: Abuhuraira Yahaya, Daha Dan Barno, Abba Kwana, Hamisu Salisu and Basiru Dan’nana.
DSP Yazid said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
“The command assures the public that it remains committed to ensuring justice is served and urges members of the public to continue to support the Police with timely and credible information,” he said.
