The family of the late Benue State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ardo Risku Muhammad, has narrated how he was allegedly ambushed and killed shortly after attending a police-arranged peace meeting in the state, as reported by DAILY TRUST on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Recall that Ardo was reportedly killed while returning from the peace meeting organised by the police to address tensions in the area.
Muhammad Idris, the deceased’s eldest son, said the group noticed a Hilux van with tinted glasses on their way back. He said the occupants briefly observed them before allowing them to pass.
He alleged that the same vehicle was later linked to the attack in which his father and another man, Yakubu Isah, were killed around Okwudu in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, about 2 to 3 kilometres from Ohimini.
According to Idris,
“On their way back home, Alhaji Muazu reported sighting a Hilux van with tinted glasses. We strongly believe that the said Hilux van was positioned to target my father and Mr. Yakubu Isah, who were both ambushed and killed shortly afterward.
