The incident generated heated reactions online, with many social media users condemning the conduct and describing it as inappropriate for a healthcare professional. Critics argued that the actions portrayed in the video could undermine the dignity and public image of the nursing profession.
In response, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association reportedly directed its District and Regional Executives across the country to assist in identifying the woman featured in the video. The association emphasized the need to uphold professional standards and preserve the integrity of the nursing profession.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana also expressed concern over the incident and indicated that investigations would be conducted to determine the identity of the individual involved. Authorities noted that disciplinary measures could be taken if it is established that the woman is a registered nurse and that professional regulations were breached.
The GRNMA further reminded nurses and midwives to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the ethical values and responsibilities of their profession, particularly when wearing official uniforms that represent the healthcare sector.
The controversy has reignited discussions about professionalism, social media conduct, and the responsibilities that come with representing respected professions in public spaces.
As investigations continue, the nursing regulatory bodies maintain that preserving public trust in healthcare professionals remains a top priority.
