LAGOS, NIGERIA – A 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reportedly suffered a severe mental health episode, stripping off her clothes shortly after exiting a popular nightclub in the Akoka area in the early hours of today.
According to eyewitness accounts, the female student, whose identity has been withheld pending family notification, was seen leaving a lounge along the Agoyo Road axis around 2:00 a.m. Witnesses stated that she appeared disoriented moments after stepping outside, before suddenly removing her clothing and displaying erratic, agitated behavior. watch the video
Security personnel and fellow club-goers reportedly intervened to restrain the young woman and provide cover using makeshift barriers. The Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) was alerted to the scene. Paramedics arrived within minutes, sedated the student, and transported her to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for emergency psychiatric evaluation.
“This is a deeply unfortunate situation,” said a campus official who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter. “The university is aware of the incident. Our immediate priority is the student’s health and well-being. We urge the public to respect her privacy and refrain from sharing unverified videos or images.
