Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, polling 319,224 votes to defeat its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which secured 40,543 votes.

 

According to the final results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 12,872 votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) polled 1,269 votes. Other parties recorded lower figures, including the African Action Congress (AAC) with 195 votes, the Labour Party (LP) with 276 votes and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) with 113 votes.

 

INEC said a total of 375,778 valid votes were cast in the election, while 6,332 votes were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 382,109. The commission also disclosed that 384,940 voters were accredited for the poll out of the state’s 988,251 registered voters.
