JOHANNESBURG – A shocking bullying incident has caused outrage in South Africa after a female student allegedly beat and stripped a younger student for dating her former boyfriend, the video is now trending on social media platform.
According to the trending video and reports, the incident happened during lunch break at a school in Johannesburg. The older student reportedly confronted the younger girl, accusing her of taking her boyfriend. What started as an argument quickly turned violent, with the senior student allegedly slapping, kicking, and tearing off the victim’s school uniform in front of other students.
Videos and photos from the scene have spread widely on social media. The images show the victim visibly distressed while many students watched and recorded the incident instead of helping her.
A teacher later stepped in and took the victim to safety. Her parents were contacted immediately. The victim’s mother said her daughter was deeply traumatized and embarrassed by what happened. The family is reportedly planning to take legal action against the attacker.
The school has suspended the senior student while investigations continue. Education authorities strongly condemned the incident and promised to provide counseling and support to those affected.
Police are also investigating the case and may consider additional charges related to the public stripping of the victim.
Speaking on the incident, social activist Lerato Mkhize said that fighting someone over a relationship is wrong and publicly stripping a person is a serious form of abuse.
