“I left my kids with my grandmother and went to Saudi Arabia. Despite the life of a single mum, taking care of myself and paying school fees for them, I started thinking of investments and only managed to buy a parcel of land and build rental shops,” she said.
Why did Phanyce opt for rentals and not a house?
Initially, Phanyce wanted to buy land to build a house, but her uncle advised her to buy a plot, and he is the one whom she sent the money for projects to.
“l congratulate him because I sent him KSh 450,000 to buy land, and he did it.The project cost KSh 1.5 million, and the toilets cost KSh 150,000.Hedelivered because he has a good heart, ” she said.
“I have three shops and a similar number of rooms; I already have tenants, and I’m now hoping to own a home and then come back and take care of my kids,” she added.
How did Phanyce save for the project?
Phanyce told NGBREAKINGNEWS that she started her project by saving KSh 450,000, which helped her get a plot in Busia; then she went ahead and saved KSh 600,000 and started building.

“Without my supportive grandmother, who took the worry of child-raising from me and my visionary, faithful uncle Johnson Johya,I would have never made it,” she added.
