The Central Bank of Nigeria has reassigned all four of its deputy governors in a fresh leadership shake-up aimed at strengthening coordination across key departments of the apex bank.
The redeployments took effect on June 1, 2026, and were reflected on the CBN’s official website on Monday.
Under the new arrangement, Philip Ikeazor has been redeployed to head the Policy Directorate, taking over from Muhammad Abdullahi, who has now been moved to the Corporate Services Directorate.
Emem Usoro, who previously oversaw Corporate Services, has been reassigned to the Operations Directorate.
Lamido Yuguda, who was formerly in charge of Operations, has been moved to the Financial System Stability Directorate.
The CBN said the redeployments form part of efforts to optimise the expertise of its senior leadership and align responsibilities with the bank’s evolving institutional priorities.
According to the apex bank, the exercise is expected to improve operational efficiency, strengthen internal coordination and enhance the delivery of key strategic functions.
The development comes amid ongoing reforms within the CBN as the bank continues efforts to strengthen monetary policy implementation, deepen financial system stability and improve overall economic management.
