The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, used helicopter to access his hometown for eight years as Senate president instead of fixing the Akwanga-Makurdi Road that leads there.
The Minister delivered the indicting statement during the commissioning of a project by the Bola Tinubu administration in the FCT.He said the road has now been fixed by the current administration.
Wike said: “Let me say to the National Chairman in one of the factions, David Mark, he was former Senate president two terms in the ruling party for eight good years uninterrupted.
“The road from Markurdi from Akwanga was awarded when he was Senate president in the ruling government of his own party. “The poor people could not afford to go to home in Markurdi. “Why? “There was no road.
“But the Senate president, David Mark, who is now the chairman of a faction of ADC, was flying by helicopter. “How many poor people have helicopters?“But today, by this administration, we can now drive freely to Markurdi.
“So, the chairman of the faction of ADC is no longer using helicopters to go to Markurdi.“He is now using the road done by this administration in only three years.
“For eight years as Senate president, nobody could afford to go to Markurdi, from Markurdi to Otkpo, no road as a Senate president.”
