“DSS Must Investigate Lere Olayinka” – Reuben Abati Demands Answers Over Alleged Access to INEC Backend System

Veteran journalist and political commentator Reuben Abati has called for an investigation into claims surrounding alleged access to the backend server of the Independent National Electoral Commission by political commentator and aide Lere Olayinka.

Speaking on the matter, Abati urged the Department of State Services to determine how Olayinka allegedly gained access to the electoral commission’s system.

According to Abati:

“The DSS should immediately investigate Lere Olayinka to determine how he gained access to the backend server of the INEC portal. Lere Olayinka must also publicly explain the means by which he accessed the system. Failure to provide a clear and satisfactory explanation should compel INEC to grant equal access to the backend server to all Nigerians, as selective access raises serious concerns about the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.”

His comments quickly generated reactions on social media, with users expressing differing views on the likelihood of any investigation taking place.

Reacting, @Mikestones2012 wrote:

“DSS my ass. Same DSS working for Tinubu,INEC & WIKE”

Another user, @Dee_9889, dismissed the controversy with a brief response:

“Story”

@okekemezie1 expressed skepticism that any meaningful action would follow.

“Nothing will come out of this. People have been calling for the INEC chairman to resign for his past partisan positions, yet nothing. It’s a mess. The people are not ready and too docile.”

Meanwhile, @Thanors referenced a related media discussion, writing:

“I love Rufai’s response… because Nigerians are now conquered people.”
