Dulles Makes Strong Statement As LIJF/NAIJAZZ Super Sessions Debuts With Kunle Ayo & Phebean The SaxoQueen

Dulles Restaurant & Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos, took a major step in its ambition to become one of the city’s leading hospitality and entertainment destinations on Saturday, May 30, with the successful launch of the LIJF/NAIJAZZ SUPER SESSIONS SESSIONS Residency in partnership with Inspiro Productions.

The debut edition attracted an impressive mix of music lovers, business executives, media personalities, and cultural enthusiasts, all drawn by the promise of an evening of exceptional live music and premium hospitality.

The event also welcomed distinguished guests including Mr. Benson Idonije and his wife. Widely respected as a veteran broadcaster, music historian, cultural commentator, the first manager of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and grandfather of the African Giant Burna Boy, Idonije’s presence added further significance to the occasion.

Speaking on the initiative, Ayoola Sadare, Founder of the Lagos International Jazz Festival & Nigerian Jazz Project (LIJF/NAIJAZZ) and CEO of Inspiro Productions, described the residency as more than a music series.

“We are creating a cultural platform where great music, meaningful connections, and quality hospitality come together. The LIJF/NAIJAZZ Super Sessions is designed to provide audiences with a more intimate and authentic live music experience while continuing the legacy of the Lagos International Jazz Festival.”

Anticipation for the event had been heightened by extensive media appearances from internationally acclaimed guitarist Kunle Ayo, whose support helped generate significant buzz across Lagos.

The evening opened with impressive performances from ECA and Seun Glorious, while Phebean The SaxoQueen captivated guests with a soulful and elegant saxophone performance that set the perfect mood.

The highlight of the night came when Kunle Ayo took to the stage. Demonstrating the brilliance that has earned him international acclaim, the guitarist delivered a thrilling performance that eventually stretched into a two-hour musical masterclass, earning multiple standing ovations and keeping guests dancing well beyond midnight.

For Dulles, the event represented more than a successful show. It reinforced the venue’s vision of combining exceptional hospitality, quality cuisine, and world-class entertainment within one destination.

According to Dolapo Akinpelu, speaking on behalf of Dulles Management:

“Our goal is to create a destination where people can enjoy excellent hospitality alongside memorable cultural and entertainment experiences. The response to this first edition confirms that there is a strong appetite for exactly that.”

With the successful debut of the LIJF/NAIJAZZ Super Sessions Residency, Dulles has signaled its intention to play a significant role in Lagos’ evolving cultural and entertainment landscape.

The LIJF/NAIJAZZ Super Sessions returns every last Saturday of the month at Dulles Restaurant & Lounge, 41 Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
