Peller/Olodo Uprising Culture: I Said What I Said. I’m Tired Of Brain Rot Content — Rapper Ycee Responds to Backlash Over Remarks

Nigerian rapper Ycee has addressed the backlash surrounding his recent comments about content creator Peller during the ongoing “Olodo” controversy, insisting that he stands by everything he said.

Speaking during a radio interview, Ycee dismissed claims that mentioning Peller’s name was wrong, saying he was simply expressing his opinion and was surprised by the scale of the reaction.

“I said what I said. I don’t care about any of these things. I said what I said, and anybody that feels offended by it, I said what I said.”

The rapper said his comments had been taken out of context, noting that many people have since come out either to defend him or criticize his stance.

“Everybody just took it out of context. It’s even worse than I thought because there’s so many people that are coming out to either defend or try to take jabs at what it is that I was saying.”

Ycee also urged people who are tired of what he described as “brain rot content” online to become creators themselves instead of merely complaining.

“If you’re tired of the brain rot content that you’ve been consuming, then by all means, throw your hat into the ring. Get in the game.”

He added that he has encouraged fellow creators to venture into streaming, saying there is room for more voices in the space, while maintaining that the online criticism has not distracted him from his work.
