FG, Zenith Bank to Empower Nigerian Youth Through Skills and Job Creation

The Federal Government (FG) and Zenith Bank are exploring new areas of collaboration aimed at expanding opportunities for Nigerian youth through entrepreneurship support, skills development, financial inclusion, and job creation.

This follows a meeting between the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, and a delegation from Zenith Bank as part of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development’s ongoing engagement with private sector institutions committed to youth development and national growth.

Speaking during the meeting, Olawande said sustainable youth development requires strong collaboration between the public and private sectors to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

According to him, the Ministry has continued to build strategic partnerships with leading institutions to drive youth-focused initiatives across entrepreneurship, agriculture, skills development, financial inclusion, and employment.

“The Ministry has continued to build strategic alliances with leading institutions to drive youth-focused initiatives across entrepreneurship, agriculture, skills development, financial inclusion, and employment,” the Minister said.

He noted that the Ministry’s partnership with Providus Bank is supporting youth-led startups and entrepreneurship development, while its collaboration with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) on the Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund initiative is designed to improve access to agricultural opportunities for young Nigerians.

The Minister also highlighted the Ministry’s partnership with Zedcrest Group, which focuses on skills acquisition, workforce readiness, and employability.

Discussions with Zenith Bank centred on additional areas of cooperation that will further empower young Nigerians through programmes targeted at entrepreneurship, skills development, financial inclusion, and employment creation.

“The future prosperity of Nigeria depends significantly on the investments we make in our youth today,” Olawande said, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to partnerships that deliver tangible opportunities and measurable impact for young people across the country.

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development said it remains committed to creating an enabling environment where Nigerian youth can develop their talents, realise their aspirations, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
