PM Modi meets German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, in their 2nd meeting this year.

On the meeting, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that both leaders reviewed progress in bilateral engagements while expressing satisfaction at the renewed momentum in the India-Germany Strategic Partnership.
While both sides aim to further strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security, green and sustainable development, technology, innovation, education and mobility; the leaders welcomed signing of the Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap, and the operationalisation of transit visa waiver for Indian nationals transiting through Germany.
Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, including the situation in West Asia and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, while welcoming the understanding reached between several countries to end the conflict in West Asia.
