Social media commentator Honour Oriretan has called out activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over alleged irregularities involving funds donated to his non-governmental organisation (NGO), triggering renewed discussions across social media platforms.
In a detailed post shared online, Oriretan raised concerns about the management of donations received by the organisation, questioning what he described as a noticeable decline in the reported amount of money available to the NGO. He urged the group to provide clearer explanations and maintain a high level of transparency regarding its finances.
The commentator alleged that the organisation’s funds had reduced substantially and also questioned the progress and visibility of projects reportedly tied to the initiative.
Oriretan further claimed there were unanswered questions surrounding the handling of the donations, calling on those responsible to account for the difference in the figures and clarify how the funds had been utilised.
He also drew comparisons to situations in which VDM has demanded accountability from other public figures, arguing that the activist should be willing to address similar concerns directed at his own organisation.
In his post, Oriretan stated:
“VDM’s NGO is mysteriously remaining N60m from the N325m yet nobody is talking instead of demanding accountability. More unwise VDM hasn’t achieved any tangible project with our NGO’s m0ney yet m0ney has suddenly disappeared, reduced to N60m from N325m. AS HOW. All the projects VDM has been flaunting ‘re fully sponsored by Burna so where did VDM spend the remaining N265m.
Hope the G0FundMe ransom for kidnappers ‘s not to fill the N265m that disappeared from this NGO cos the plan looked more like for embezzlement not compassion.
If it’s someone else,he ‘d have dragged heII outta the person & swiftly written to police, efcc with his Ratels barking anyhow BUT NOW THAT IT’S HIM, EVERYWHERE IS JST QUIET WHICH IS SO UNWISE.
His financial status suddenly changed jst after I donated my whooping sum of N100 into this NGO. VDM no longer drinks sachet water, no longer lives in selfcon dabi single-room that brought him fame.
He now tours countries, flies planes up & down JUST AFTER I DONATE THAT MY WHOOPING SUM OF N100 into his NGO
SEEMS VDM HAS EMBEZZLED MY N100 & THE N265M. He must vomit it. So unwise
MY JUDGEMENT: VDM has 48hrs to apologize, account fr the missing N265m. Claiming to put N100m in savings without approval while coming to say it after being caught, exposed speaks a lot yet claiming to have integrity . Y’all be wise.. Don’t be unwise.”
