An academic staff member of Enugu State University of Science and Technology has expressed gratitude to her students after a heartwarming surprise that left her in tears.
The lecturer recently went viral after students presented her with gifts in appreciation of her dedication, mentorship and positive impact on their lives.
In an emotional message to the students, she offered prayers for their success and explained that any moments she appeared strict were driven by her desire to see them excel.
According to her:
“My prayer for you every day is that your destiny will never be thwarted. Nothing would make me happier than seeing all of you rise to great heights and become successful in life.
If I ever shouted at you or spoke harshly to you, it was never out of hatred. It was because I wanted the best for you and desired to see you become the very best versions of yourselves.”
The touching message comes days after videos showed the lecturer breaking down in tears as students surprised her with gifts and words of appreciation.
The gesture has continued to attract praise online, with many Nigerians commending both the students and the lecturer for the bond they share.
