APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe says he was at the Ladipo Market to buy spare parts for his car on June 5 when traders, mostly of Igbo extraction, allegedly tried to provoke him. Videos shared online showed traders booing him and calling him names. Social media was awash with reports claiming he was beaten by the traders.
In a video shared online on Friday afternoon, Igbokwe denied the claims, insisting that nobody beat him. He further stated that if anyone had attempted to attack him, the market could have been shut down for one year.
According to him, “Lagos is not the South East.”
