In line with his commitment to strengthening the financial capacity of Ikeja Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Monday met with members of the Revenue Committee, management staff, and revenue-generating officers of the council to review and assess revenue generation efforts, achievements, and challenges recorded so far in the year 2026.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Revenue Committee, Hon. Tunde Britto, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for the confidence reposed in him and members of the committee. He pledged the committee’s continued dedication and commitment to achieving greater results for the local government.
Also addressing the gathering, the Council Manager, Mrs. Taiwo Juliana Odubeko, encouraged revenue officers to intensify their efforts, noting that revenue generation remains the bedrock of every institution and is essential for the successful delivery of government policies and programmes to the people.
The Council Treasurer equally stressed the importance of collective responsibility in revenue generation, emphasizing that achieving improved revenue performance requires the cooperation and commitment of all stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Comrade Dauda commended the officers for their efforts so far and acknowledged the gradual improvements being recorded. He however, noted that there is still significant room for growth and urged all concerned to remain focused, innovative, and diligent in carrying out their responsibilities.
As a demonstration of his commitment to improving productivity and service delivery, Comrade Dauda fulfilled his promise to the department by donating four laptop computers to the Revenue Department to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and data management.

The revenue officers, in their response, expressed gratitude to the Chairman for his encouragement, support, and investment in their work tools, assuring him of their renewed commitment to achieving greater revenue performance for Ikeja Local Government.
