The Council of Fulani Chiefs in South-West Nigeria has distanced itself from individuals being investigated over k+dnapping activities in Ogun State, insisting that the Fulani community does not support crime in any form.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the council’s chairman and Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammed Bambado II, said the group strongly condemns k+dnapping, banditry, armed r@bbery and every act capable of thr£atening peace and security in the region.
The council said recent reports linking some suspects to k+dnappings should not be used to st#gmatise the entire Fulani community or its traditional institutions....... .
