Nigerian singer Spyro has stirred reactions after declaring that men who spend money on women unnecessarily are wasting their hard-earned cash.
The singer made the statement while performing on stage, where he paused his set to deliver a message about financial discipline and wealth creation.
“If you think you are here and you are spending money on women, you are wasting your time,” he told the crowd, quickly clarifying that he was not against taking care of women but against reckless spending aimed at impressing them.
According to him, many men neglect their financial future by focusing on luxury and relationships instead of building sustainable wealth.
“When money finished from my hand, I didn’t see anybody,” Spyro said. “As a man, put your head into work. When you start to make money, save up, invest.”
The singer revealed that he chose investments over flashy spending when fame and money came his way, a decision he says has protected him from financial hardship.
Spyro also recounted how women who once paid little attention to him became interested after he became successful.
“When I blow, all these fresh girls began entering my DM. They would even promise to take me to Dubai and pay the bill. These are the girls that I used to crush on when I was broke,” he said.
The singer maintained that the core message of his music is to encourage young men to work hard, invest wisely and avoid spending beyond their means for validation.
