Iran: A Serious Warning Is Being Given To The Bahrainis To Know Their Limits – Ali Akbar Velayati

According to a report by Al Jazeera on June 29, 2026, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a stern warning to Bahrain, saying Tehran would respond with greater force if the Gulf nation takes actions that provoke the Islamic Republic amid rising regional tensions.

Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, cautioned Bahrain against what he described as actions that could worsen the situation. He said, “A serious warning is being given to the Bahrainis to know their limits and not play such games with their own fate, and not force Iran to adopt harsh decisions.”

The warning follows a series of military developments involving Iran and the United States. Tehran said it targeted a US Navy base in Bahrain on Friday and Saturday in retaliation for recent American strikes on Iranian territory. Iranian officials maintain that US military installations across the Gulf are being used to launch attacks against Iran, making them legitimate targets in any response.

However, Gulf states have rejected those accusations. Bahrain has also denied the claims and strongly condemned the attacks carried out on its territory. Authorities in Manama said the strikes violated the country’s sovereignty and threatened efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.

Bahrain, which has a significant Shia population, has intensified security measures in recent months. Authorities have arrested dozens of people accused of maintaining military links with Tehran, reflecting ongoing concerns over Iranian influence and regional security.
