Iran: Thousands Of Innocent People Are Dead, The Region Is In Chaos; This War Must End Now– Ansari

According to a report by Al Jazeera on June 29, 2026, Iranian-American lawmaker Yassamin Ansari has strongly criticised US President Donald Trump over a recent social media post in which he threatened Iran following the latest agreement between Washington and Tehran.

The Arizona Democrat described the president’s remarks as reckless, warning that such statements could further inflame tensions in an already unstable Middle East.

Trump made the comments on his Truth Social platform a day after confirming US attacks on Iran. While referring to the agreement signed by both countries, he warned that the United States could take additional military action if Iran failed to comply with its commitments.

In the post, Trump wrote that Washington may “be forced to militarily complete the job” if Tehran does not abide by the deal. He further warned, “If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!”

Ansari described Trump’s rhetoric as “dangerous” and “unhinged”, stressing that the consequences of the ongoing conflict were already severe for civilians and the wider region.

“Thousands of innocent people are dead, the region is in chaos, and our economy is devastated. This war must end now,” she said.

Her comments come amid heightened international concern over the worsening security situation in the Middle East, with many governments and global organisations urging restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement.
