Iran-US war latest: American military targets Iran’s ‘surveillance capabilities’ in latest round of strikes

The US military has said it targeted Iran’s “surveillance capabilities”, among other military infrastructure, in its latest round of strikes.

Central Command announced a second round of strikes Wednesday night, Washington time, as Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth promised the country’s forces would be “busy tonight”.

“CENTCOM forces launched strikes on Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense sites across Iran.

“U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy assets fired precision munitions on Iranian targets that posed a threat to U.S. forces and international commercial ships transiting regional waters”, the military wrote on X.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has reportedly launched its own attacks against 18 US targets in Kuwait and Bahrain.

Earlier, Donald Trumpsaid that the US is going to attack Iran “very hard” unless a peace deal is finalised.

“We’ll see what happens, but we hit them hard yesterday, and we’re going to hit them again hard today”, the US president told reporters at the White House.

The recent US strikes against Iran follow the downing of an American Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz, which Trump blamed Iran for.
