Popular social media activist and content creator, VeryDarkMan, on Friday morning joined dozens of concerned Nigerians in a peaceful protest across major streets of Abuja, demanding urgent action to address the worsening security situation in the country.
The protesters as seen in the live video, carrying placards with bold inscriptions such as “Bandits Must Go,” “Terrorists Must Go,” and “Secure Nigeria Now,” expressed frustration over the continued attacks, kidnappings, and killings affecting communities across different parts of the nation.
VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, was seen at the forefront of the demonstration, calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal groups responsible for violent attacks in several states.
Speaking during the protest, participants said the rising cases of insecurity have left many Nigerians living in fear, while thousands of families have been displaced by the activities of bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers.
The demonstrators urged authorities to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve security operations, and ensure that those responsible for acts of violence are brought to justice. They also called for greater protection of rural communities, schools, and highways, which have frequently been targeted by criminal elements.
The protest attracted attention from residents and motorists within the Federal Capital Territory, with security personnel monitoring the exercise to maintain law and order.
The demonstration comes amid growing public concern over recent incidents of kidnappings and attacks reported in various parts of the country. Many Nigerians have continued to call for stronger measures to safeguard lives and property and restore confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
As of the time of filing this report, the protest remained peaceful, with participants insisting that their message was clear: an end to banditry, terrorism, and all forms of violent crime threatening the safety of citizens.
