A Kenyan man has earned praise from social media users after appreciating his mama fua in a heartfelt way.

The young man, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the woman had been serving him diligently since 2017, and he felt it was time to thank her for her years of dedication.
After buying himself a new phone, he decided to gift his previous smartphone, which was still in excellent condition, to the mama fua.
“You have never been on WhatsApp, right?” he asked.

She explained that she occasionally borrowed someone else’s phone whenever she needed to access WhatsApp but had never had a smartphone of her own.
Why Kenyan man gifted his mama fua
The kind-hearted man went on to reflect on the journey they had shared over the years despite the challenges they had both faced.
“You have seen me grow. If there is anyone who can confidently speak about my journey, it is you. From my single room to a bedsitter, and one day we’ll move to a one-bedroom house once I get married,” he said as they both laughed.
He then presented her with the phone, explaining that he considered her part of his family despite them not being related.
He also recalled how, during the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone else stayed away, but she continued showing up to ensure his house and clothes were clean.

The mama fua could not hide her excitement after receiving the unexpected gift. She screamed, laughed and looked on in disbelief as she repeatedly thanked the young man for his generosity.
Without wasting any time, she removed her SIM card from her old phone and inserted it into the new smartphone.
“You mean this is mine? Thank you, and may God bless you. I remember your struggles selling rice, and now look at how far you have come,” she said.
