A woman from Anambra State has been arrested for allegedly subjecting a young houseboy to severe torture by repeatedly heating a knife until it was extremely hot and pressing it onto his skin, causing his flesh to peel .
The suspect was reportedly surrounded by residents following a report by concerned neighbours and the victim’s relatives.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with many calling for stiffer penalties for child abuse and domestic violence .
This case follows a similar pattern in Anambra State, where in 2024, a female lawyer, Adachukwu Chukelu-Okafor, was arrested for allegedly torturing her 11-year-old househelp with a hot knife and electric iron .
The lawyer had been declared wanted with a N2 million bounty placed on her before she surrendered to the police .
