Nairobi, Kenya: Kipsang Lawi Towett, a young man who graduated from the Kenyan Methodist University with a nursing degree, has shared turning to selling electricity supplies after he failed to get a job.

Thanks to generous support from his community, Kipsang not only attended a posh school, but he was also able to graduate from university, something which seemed like a far cry for him before.

After graduation, things changed for the young man; he did not get a job immediately. Although it was not what he expected, the young man decided not to sit and wait.

“I started my own electronics repair business in Kitengela, which I currently run. At the same time, I continued with my studies, and I’m happy to say that I will be graduating this November with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Looking back, my childhood was very difficult, and there were times I felt overwhelmed by the struggles we faced,”he said.

“But those experiences motivated me to work harder and keep pushing forward. Today, I am grateful for how far I’ve come. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me resilience, patience, and the value of never giving up. I’m in a much better place now, and I thank God for the progress I’ve made,”he added.
