A Kenyan family is desperately seeking answers after their kin, Simon Karongo Itati, mysteriously disappeared while living in the US, leaving behind a decade of uncertainty and anguish.

According to family members, Simon moved to America in 2010 after successfully obtaining a Green Card through the Diversity Visa Lottery programme.

Like many Kenyans pursuing opportunities abroad, he left home with hopes of building a brighter future and creating new possibilities for himself and his loved ones.

He reportedly settled in Huntsville, Alabama, where he lived and worked while adapting to life in a foreign country.

During his first years in America, Simon remained in regular contact with relatives back home, reassuring them that he was settling in well and pursuing his ambitions.

When did Simon stop communicating?

That reassurance, however, came to an abrupt end in March 2015. Without warning, all communication from Simon stopped.
