“In a remarkable turn of events, the woman has returned just as the family begins a new chapter. Their son is now eight years old and has grown under the care of his father through years of hardship and resilience. The reunion has taken place alongside the official handover of a newly built house, marking a major milestone for the family.

What was once a story of separation and struggle has now shifted into a moment of restoration and hope. The transformation has been made possible through the support of well-wishers and the intervention of US-based Kenyan philanthropist Jeremy Damaris, who has been praised for his continued acts of compassion in supporting vulnerable families,” the post read.

Kenyans react after Gitobu’s wife returns home

The story quickly went viral, prompting mixed reactions from social media users who shared their opinions in the comment section.

Mumbi Mumbi:

“At least she came back when the child is only eight years old. Some fathers return when the child is getting married and claim all the blessings.”

Wanja Jane:

“So proud of her. She chose to live and allowed her child and the father of her child to live too. That’s love. It’s good she didn’t choose a worse path. Sometimes walking away is an act of self-care and self-preservation.

We should appreciate those who leave peacefully because the alternative can be tragic. The child is now eight years old and got the chance to live.”

Lucy Njuguna:

“Maybe if she had not left, they would never have received this help. Men have always been like that since the beginning of time, so mama, feel at home.”

Ann Karambu:

“Some men also disappear when the child is still in the womb and only return after the child becomes successful. But that’s a different story.”

Margaret Berglund:

“Kenya has so many modern buildings and wealthy people, yet no one could help this man all those years. I’m happy they have finally reunited.”
